The first Learning Activity for EUPA_NEXT Project has been implemented in Cyprus. The Learning Activity had duration of five days, between the 11th and the 18th of January 2016 and it has been held on the premises of MMC Management Centre, which coordinates the project. Representatives from all partners participating in the project participated in the first Learning Activity. During the Learning Activity, the participants analysed the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and they had the chance to be informed through presentations on EQF. Some of the partners have presented their National Qualifications Frameworks as well as the way in which they refer to the European Qualifications Framework.
Additionally, during the Learning Activity, the participants have analysed the main principles of ECVET, the learning outcomes, some examples of good practices as well as information regarding the recognition and validation of learning outcomes. Within the framework of the Learning Activity, the participants had an in depth analysis of more than 10 projects that were compared in terms of the methodology they used for the implementation of ECVET as well as regarding other issues (e.g. Holistic Los).
Finally, the participants had the opportunity to attend presentations from experts on the area of EQF and ECVET.
During the framework of the Learning Activity, the following presentations have been made:
• Presentation from Mr. Andreas Eleftheriou, Ministry of Education and Culture regarding the National Qualifications Framework in Cyprus.
• Presentation form Mrs. Elisavet Voulgari, Human Resources Development Authority, responsible authority for policy making for Vocational Education and Training, on the Standards for Vocational Qualifications in Cyprus.
• Presentation from Mr. Konstantinos Georgiou, Ministry of Education and Culture member of ECVET experts Committee, regarding the progress of ECVET in Cyprus.
